Zhala Bayramova is an extraordinary human rights lawyer and activist whose unwavering dedication to justice and human rights has earned her international attention. Her remarkable journey exemplifies courage, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to defending the rights of the oppressed.

At the forefront of her advocacy is her tireless campaign for the release of her father, Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu, who has been arbitrarily detained in Azerbaijan since July 2023. Bayramova’s efforts have brought international attention to his plight and the broader issue of political repression in Azerbaijan.

Following her father’s arrest, her family has endured many personal attacks in state-friendly media. Despite these challenges, she continues her vital work from Sweden, where she currently resides, demonstrating remarkable resilience.

Zhala Bayramova’s exceptional courage, legal expertise, and tireless advocacy make her a truly deserving recipient of the Magnitsky Award for outstanding young activist.
